Raleigh is the capital of the state of North Carolina as well as the seat of Wake County. Raleigh is known as the "City of Oaks" for its many oak trees, which line the streets in the heart of the city. classic Southern town, look no further than Greater Raleigh. 

Raleigh is best known for its world-class museums, best of Broadway shows and live concerts, capital area historic sites, professional and amateur sporting events and shopping mecca status with nine major retail areas; Greater Raleigh offers a variety of entertainment all in one park-like, scenic setting. Raleigh is home to University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University and nearby is Duke University (Durham, NC).  

Greater Raleigh's has three traditional shopping malls that are arguably anything-but-traditional. All offer the highest concentrations of department stores and more in Midtown Raleigh, in North Raleigh and in the Town of Cary. These malls also boast premier restaurants and stores unique to the state or the region, such as H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue. Visiting fashionistas can't miss these unconventional malls!
